Rusty Lykes serves as Vice President in an advisory role for Oberer Management Services, where he provides strategic guidance and mentorship to the company’s property management leadership as part of a planned leadership transition ahead of his retirement later this year. In this capacity, Rusty works closely with the Vice President of Property Management to ensure continuity, share institutional knowledge, and support the continued success of the company’s clients, associates, and portfolio.

Throughout his career with Oberer Management Services, Rusty has overseen all aspects of the company’s multifamily property management services, including the operational and asset performance of both wholly owned and third-party managed portfolios consisting of apartment communities and homeowners associations.

His extensive career spans more than four decades and includes expertise in new construction and lease-up, acquisitions and dispositions, renovations and repositioning, restoration projects, and association management. Rusty has managed portfolios that include both market-rate and affordable housing communities. Beginning in front-line on-site positions, he advanced through multi-site management, regional leadership, and executive roles before leading the property management division.

Rusty has long been recognized as a leader within the multifamily housing industry. He previously served as President of the Greater Cincinnati Northern Kentucky Apartment Association and, earlier in his career, as President of the Greater Dayton Apartment Association. His depth of experience encompasses due diligence, new development analysis, budgeting, capital planning, financial analysis, operational leadership, and the day-to-day management of multifamily communities.

Rusty earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate from Eastern Kentucky University and holds a Kentucky Real Estate Salesperson License. His leadership, industry expertise, and commitment to developing future leaders have helped shape the success of Oberer Management Services and the communities it serves.
